Grant Research and Writing Internship

BEEE Foundation Internship Overview

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Position Status:  Intern (unpaid)

Application Deadline: March 17th 2025

Internship Dates:  May 12th - December 15th 2025

Time Commitment:  10-15 hours per week

Flexible from 9 am – 5 pm, with occasional evening meetings. 

Location: REMOTE 


Position Overview & Basic Function

As the Research and Grant Writing Intern for the BEEE Foundation, your primary responsibility is to identify grants that match the objective of BEEE, search through detailed lists, databases, and donor websites, determine which ones are not worth pursuing, prepare proposals and write compelling grants to secure capital.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist CEO with: Prospect identification, research, proposal development and writing.
  • Creating an organized matrix of grant information, including: 
    • Deadlines 
    • Grant requirements
    • Amount of funding offered
    • Contact info (if provided)
  • Accurate and timely production of final proposals.  
  • Electronically tracking and documenting communications.
  • Updating and maintaining BEEE Foundation database (Springly).  Researching potential Foundation prospects.  
  • Donor outreach and cultivation.
  • Meet proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, approval, and transmittal;
  • Coordinate with relevant team members and contribute proposal status information to team meetings;
  • Complete grant applications with the help of the CEO, if required.
  • Additional responsibilities as directed. 


Required Skills & Education

  • Experience in proposal or grant writing is preferred.
  • Excellent writing, verbal, proofreading, editing, phone and organizational skills.
  • Strong time-management and research capabilities.
  • Flexible team player, self-motivated and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills, customer service orientation, excellent phone manner and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under deadlines.
  • Computer aptitude including strong experience with Microsoft Offices (i.e. Word, Excel).
  • Salesforce experience is a plus (but not required).
  • B.A or equivalent or currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate level program focusing on non-profit management, social sciences, or similar field;


Other:

  • Reliable computer and wifi access
  • Candidates may be subject to a criminal background check.

Communications Internship

BEEE Foundation

Better Environments to Elevate Educators (BEEE) is the brainchild of 4 educators whose vision is to enrich educators’ knowledge base, increase acquisition of key competencies, and exposure to opportunities through collaborative spaces including relevant, professional developments, networking opportunities, and other educational resources to assist them in their individual, professional journey.


Position Overview & Basic Function

As the Communications Intern for the BEEE Foundation, your primary responsibility is to maintain the current website and social media platforms, create content for social media platforms, correspond with potential identify grants correlating to the objective of BEEE, search through detailed lists, databases, and donor websites, determine which ones are not worth pursuing, prepare proposals and write compelling grants to secure capital.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain, edit, and improve website content 
  • Work alongside the communications team to assist with social media campaigns
  • Facilitate positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Assist in strategies or messages from senior leadership
  • Develop frequent internal and external newsletters and press releases
  • Draft and publish educational news stories and videos
  • Determine what content will reach target audiences
  • Develop communications related projects
  • Monitor social media and Google Analytics
  • Foster relationships with advocates and key persons
  • Collaborate with marketing team with products that will tailor to the target audience
  • Report out at team meetings 
  • Perform other job-related duties as assignments 


Required Skills & Education

  • Collaborate with communications team with products that will tailor to the target audience
  • Research advertising/marketing trends
  • Research competitors’ pricing and products
  • Decide on appropriate placement of ads
  • Publish digital marketing content online
  • Implement email marketing campaigns
  • Optimize paid advertising campaigns using SEO and other tools
  • Scale campaigns to maximize ROI
  • Monitor project status and budget
  • Foster relationships with advocates and key persons
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
